I love fruit, but when you want to make it more fun for the kids, or make a quick healthy side dish for a party, fruit salad really takes it up a notch. Add a quick dip with Greek yogurt, a little honey, and a drop or two of dōTERRA’s Wild Orange essential oil, and you’ll have them coming back for seconds and thirds!
This is the simplest, most delicious fruit salad formula that works with just about any combination of fruits that you have on hand. Just use equal parts of 3 or 4 different fruits and chop into same size pieces. My number one favorite combination is strawberries, blueberries, peaches, and bananas. Ever since we made this combo when my mom and siblings were visiting one day last summer, Judith has asked for it (and says we need to have Grandma and her aunts and uncles over again to make it with us)! A couple other ideas for each season are below.
Spring: melon, mango, pineapple
Summer: strawberries, blueberries, peaches, bananas
Fall: pears, figs, grapes
Winter: pears, apples, cranberries, oranges
I’ll take 2-3 drops of any of dōTERRA’s citrus essential oils (Lemon, Wild Orange, Grapefruit, Lime, Tangerine) and drop on top of the fruit, then gently mix with a spoon. This brings out all the flavors and helps keep the fruit from browning too quickly–but you’ll still want to chop the fruit within a short time before serving to keep it looking its best.
